Everything you need to find your way around Châtelet-Les Halles.
The station connects five metro lines and three RER lines, making it the central hub of Paris’s public transport network.
Located in the heart of Paris, the Châtelet-Les Halles complex connects the RER station (lines A, B, and D) with the Châtelet Metro station (lines 1, 4, 7, 11, and 14) and Les Halles station (line 4).
With its 19 numbered entrances, the world’s largest underground station stretches from the banks of the Seine to the Les Halles district. To make navigating the station easier, it is divided into three interconnected sectors : Forum, Rivoli, and Seine.
Each exit (known as a Sortie in French) leads to different part of central Paris and is clearly marked with a number and a street name or landmark to help you find your way. Choose the numbered entrance closest to your destination to save time.
For smooth travel, use the station’s sectors as reference points to stay oriented, and follow the signs showing your metro or RER line’s symbol and final stop.
Ticket counters and machines are available for purchasing transport passes and tickets.
For a smoother journey, consider buying your tickets in advance using the Île-de-France Mobilités app.
