Check-in & Baggage drop
Each airline has different requirements about how early you need to check-in before your flight’s departure time.
We recommend you check with your airline to understand when to check-in, baggage allowances and whether they offer web/mobile check-in and baggage drop services.
Online & Mobile Check-in
Checking in before you arrive at the airport is the fastest and most convenient option. Online check-in saves time – and often lets you choose your seat or skip the lines !
Depending on your airline, you can check in online or via a mobile app, usually 24 to 48 hours before your flight. Your boarding pass will be sent to you by email (to print) or by SMS/MMS .
- If you have baggage to check-in you can leave it at the Bag Drop desk.
- If you only have carry-on baggage you can go directly through security and then to your gate.
Airport Check-in
Check-in and Baggage drop areas at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport are located in each terminal. If you are not sure which terminal you need visit our terminal info page. Most flights open for check-in approximately 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.
- You can check-in using the self-service kiosks to choose your seat and print your boarding pass.
- If carrying a hold bag, check it in at the Bag Drop.
- Once checked in, head to security screening with your boarding pass.
Airline staff will be available to help with the check-in process and answer any questions you may have.
Passenger assistance
Passenger assistance is provided by your airline. This includes support for passengers who need a wheelchair, are traveling with pets, have oversized baggage, or are unaccompanied minors.
Please inform your airline or travel agent of any special assistance needs when booking your flight – or at least 48 hours before departure.
When you get to the airport, go to the appropriate check-in desk and speak with an airline representative if you need help. Make sure to complete check-in at the counter at least 60 minutes before the airline’s check-in deadline.
Check-in deadlines at Paris-CDG
Deadlines are in place to help ensure on-time departures. Please follow the timelines provided by your airline for collecting your boarding pass, dropping off baggage, and arriving at the gate.
If you miss these deadlines, you might lose your seat, have your booking canceled, or miss out on compensation if you’re denied boarding.
Air France
Schengen + UK/IRL = 40 min.
Non-Schengen = 60 min.
Africa* = 90 min.
* Except Algeria, Cairo, Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa = 60 minutes.
