VAT Refund-Tax Refund
Here you’ll find the rules and procedures on how to reclaim VAT at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
You can claim back, under conditions, the sales tax (VAT) on any purchases made in the European Union during your stay.
Eligibility for VAT Refund
You may be eligible for a VAT (Value-Added Tax) refund on purchases made in France if you meet the following conditions :
- Non-European Union resident
- Over 16
- Claiming for transactions over €100 including VAT
- Purchase tourist goods from a retailer displaying the Tax Free Shopping sign
- Goods must be for personal use and taken out of the EU in your luggage
How to claim your VAT Refund
Proceed with your VAT refund when you arrive at the airport for your return journey. Before security, go to a PABLO kiosk if your Tax Free form displays the PABLO logo – this allows you to validate your goods electronically. If your form is not eligible for PABLO, or if you encounter issues, proceed to the French Customs desk for manual validation. Arrive early at the airport – especially during busy travel periods.
Make sure you have the following items ready for inspection :
-
Your purchased goods
-
Your Tax Free form
-
Original receipts
-
Your passport
VAT cash reimbursement
Bring your Tax Free form validated by French Customs along with your passport to a Cash Paris or Global Exchange booth. You can receive your VAT refund in cash (euros) on the spot or choose a refund to your credit card, which typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to process.
Tax refund desks
The French Customs Tax Refund Desks (Détaxe) are open during all flight operation hours. PABLO kiosks are located alongside Customs desks.
