Do I need to collect my baggage at CDG ?
Your baggage may be through-checked to your final destination, but please confirm this with your airline as not all carriers offer this service.
In the event that your baggage is not through-checked you must follow signs for arrivals and collect your cases from the baggage reclaim hall,
then check your bags in as normal for the next leg of your journey.
Where do I go when I land ?
On leaving the aircraft, follow signs for arrivals and baggage reclaim (″Baggage-Exit″) or ″Flight Connections″ for transit passengers.
If you don’t know which terminal you need for your onward flight, use information screens at the airport.
Are there fast-track facilities at CDG ?
Premium and select non-premium passengers will be issued an access voucher from their airline.
Follow the signs marked ″Accès no.1″ or ″Sky Priority″ at immigration and security checks.
″PARAFE″ e-gates are your quickest way through immigration at terminals 1, 2A, 2C and 2E.
Simply place your passport’s photo page on the scanner, step into the gate, complete the finger scan and step through the gate.
Citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Union and the Swiss Confederation are eligible.
First time users will have to register with an immigration officer.
Do I need a visa ?

Can I leave the airport transit area ?
You can leave the transit area (and airport) as long as you have a visa (if necessary).
You’ll have to pass through security again on your way back into the airport.

Where to meet at CDG airport ?
Meeting points are located in all terminals just after you exit the baggage reclaim area.
Where can I store my bags at CDG ?
There are left luggage/baggage storage facilities in terminal 2 (close to TGV-RER station).
Baggage and luggage items can be stored for a few hours or up to 90 days.

Can I take a shower ?
Currently, CDG has no public showers.
You may proceed to your airline’s lounge.
Where can I sleep overnight ?
There is nowhere to sleep in the terminals but there’s a great choice of hotels nearby.
If your booking includes a stopover in a local hotel, please follow the signs to Arrivals.

If you’re a connecting passenger from non-Schengen countries you’ll have to pass through French border controls to get to your hotel,
so please ensure you have any required visa to enter France.
You can apply for a 24-hour visa when you arrive, but this is at the immigration officer’s discretion…

Does CDG airport have wifi ?
You can enjoy free wireless internet access via your notebook computer or handheld device in all terminals.
How to get the VAT tax refunded at the airport ?
This needs to be done in the last EU country where you are on the ground.
At the airport, look for the “Detaxe” sign or proceed to Travelex offices.
You will need to provide your ticket, passport and the forms that you have collected during your shopping.

Baby changing facilities are available throughout all terminals.

Where is smoking allowed ?
Please not that smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the terminals except in the dedicated smoking booths located airside.

How long will it take me to get to central Paris ?
It depends on how you’re travelling.
• By car : in average traffic conditions, the journey takes between 35 minutes and an hour.
• By taxi : in average traffic conditions, the journey takes between 35 minutes and an hour.
• By train : RER B trains reach Gare du Nord from/to Charles de Gaulle in 30 minutes.
• By bus : Roissybus service from Charles de Gaulle reach central Paris (Opéra) in 50 to 55 minutes.
• By coach : Air France coaches reach Orly airport or central Paris from Charles de Gaulle (terminals 1 and 2) in 45-50 minutes.
Can I go to Paris during my layover ?
CDG airport is about 26 km (16 miles) from Paris’ city center, if your layover is at least 5-6 hours it’s worth visiting the city of Paris !

Where is the coach station ?
The main bus station (″Gare routière″) is located at Roissypole, in the airport central area, nearby RER station “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1” and terminal 3.
The bus station provides local bus and long distance coach services.
What is Roissypole ?
″Roissypole″ is the name of an area within CDG airport.
It is a group of office buildings, airport hotels, the RER station “Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1“, the bus and coach station,
the CDGVAL shuttle train station “Terminal 3-Roissypole”.
What is CDGVAL ?
CDGVAL is a free light rail servive for visitors and passengers needing to connect landside between terminals 1, 2, 3.

I lost something at CDG airport. What do I do ?

My luggage didn’t come off the aircraft. What do I do ?
Baggage delivery is the responsibility of individual airlines.
For inquiries relating to hold baggage, please contact your airline directly.
What restrictions for hand luggage ?
Your airline may enforce restrictions on the size and number of cabin bags.

What is the procedure at the security checkpoint?
Since November 6, 2006, it has been mandatory at security screening checkpoints for passengers to take off their jackets,
take out laptops and show any liquids they are carrying.
This process is mandatory for all EU airports without exception.
What is the rules for liquids ?
Only limited quantities of liquids may be carried through airport security into the departure lounge.
This includes bottled drinks, fragrances, cosmetics and toiletries.
The following exceptions may be made to the 100ml rule : baby food or baby milk and liquid medicines.
Liquid rules on hand luggage, what items are defined as liquids ?
It is prohibited to carry liquids and comparable substances in your hand luggage.
These include gels, pastes, lotions, mixtures of liquids and solids and the contents of squeezable containers
such as toothpaste, hair gels, beverages, soups, syrup, perfume, shaving foam, aerosols (sprays) and other similar materials.
Liquid rules on hand luggage, what flights are subject to the regulation ?
The European regulation limiting the quantity of liquids in carry-on baggage applies to all flights within the EU,
regardless of the destination or the nationality of the airline.
It also applies to passengers transferring from one flight to another at an airport within the EU.
Certain exceptions apply to passengers whose first flight originates at an airport within the EU.
In what form is it permitted to carry medication and special foods in hand luggage ?
Medication and special foods (e.g. baby food and meals for diabetics) needed during the flight
(including nose sprays, eye drops and insulin) can be taken on board.
It is ultimately the passenger’s responsibility, if the need arises, to provide proof that these items must be carried
in hand luggage (e.g. in the form of a prescription).
Medication or baby food can be carried outside the transparent plastic bag, but must be presented separately at the security screening checkpoint.
Can I still buy and carry on my tax-free and duty-free goods ?
Can duty free articles be carried in hand luggage ?
Duty free articles can generally be carried in hand luggage provided that they are purchased at an EU airport
and transported in a bag sealed at the point of sale and accompanied by a sales slip showing the current date.
What are the duty free, tax free allowances and regulations ?

Is any liability assumed by airlines or the airport for items that must be left behind at security checkpoint ?
The airport or airline cannot assume any liability for articles left behind.
For items carried in check-in luggage, the usual liability terms apply.
What is important to bear in mind for persons who need assistance ?
Persons who need assistance or must be accompanied should indicate this when booking their flight.
The airline will then arrange mobility service free of charge.
The service will take the passenger to the aircraft and will be waiting at the destination.
Passengers can also order this service at short notice through the airline at the airport.
In this case, however, they should plan on an extended waiting time (30–40 minutes).
What can I take through security ?
All passengers must pass through security control after check-in and before entering the departure lounge.

What is my baggage allowance ?
Baggage allowances are determined by airlines and will depend on factors such as fare paid, class of travel,
route, aircraft type, government regulations, and the airline’s commercial and health and safety policies.
Airlines generally set a ‘free baggage allowance’, expressed by ‘weight’ and/or by ‘piece’.
They may allow, and set charges, for baggage not meeting these criteria (excess baggage).
Travellers are advised to check baggage allowances with their airline when booking to avoid confusion
or complications at check-in.
What do I do if there’s a problem with my baggage ?
Baggage handling and delivery is the responsibility of the airlines from the point of check-in to the point of collection.
If you have any problems, please contact your airline immediately.
Where do I park ?

I want to pick up or drop off a passenger. What do I do ?
You’ll find the drop-off lane by following “Dépose-minute” signs (10 minutes free parking).
If you are picking up, please use short stay car parks (P1, P AB, P CD, P EF or P G),
which are well signposted.
